Support for Culture and the Arts

The Kirishima International Music Festival

Since 2001, sabah 88 lotto has supported the Kirishima International Music Festival (Kirishima city, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan), which started in 1980, to provide students an opportunity to learn from outstanding musicians by experiencing performances firsthand. Over 40 concerts and workshops are held every year, featuring musicians worldwide as invited performers and lecturers. The number of participants from outside Japan (primarily Asia) is increasing every year, and the Kirishima International Music Festival now enjoys growing popularity as one of Asia's major music festivals.

Special Exhibitions

The sabah 88 lotto Gallery hosts special exhibitions related to Kyoto twice a year. Exhibition themes include "support for young artists," "support for artists with disabilities," and "support for regional vitalization." In 2024, the Gallery held an exhibition on the theme of "comfortable places" by three young Japanese painters who received awards at the New Kyoto Nihonga Exhibition, and a special exhibition held in collaboration with Kyoto Saga University of Arts and Kyoto Saga Art College featuring 15 works by students, graduates, and faculty in a space that allows visitors to experience the feeling that they are exploring in a forest. The exhibition attracted many visitors.

Exhibition of Japanese Painting Collection

In September 2023, sabah 88 lotto exhibited its collection of Japanese paintings. The collection featured works by 23 artists painted for the Modern Japanese Painting Exhibition that was held in seven cities, including Paris and London, in five countries between 1985 and 1986. The exhibition was sponsored jointly with Wacoal Holdings Corporation (former Wacoal Co., Ltd.) with the goal of showcasing Japanese culture through Japanese paintings. Members of the Kyoto City University of Arts and the Department of General Science of Art helped to create explanations for each painting.
